Chris Ams was born and raised in the southeast suburbs of Detroit, MI, where his artistic vision was nourished by both the historic depth of the city, and the quiet beauty of the outdoors.
After receiving his B.A. in Studio Art from Oakland University in 2007, he moved to New York where he continued the pursuit of his artistic endeavors. While on the East Coast, he has worked on a multitude of artistic projects, which have included: Creating fashion sketches used for the Lifetime reality show, "24 Hour Catwalk", Designing giant puppets for Pipeline Theatre Company's production of "Giant Killer Slugs!", Logo Design, Set Design for Film and Theatre, Illustration, Album Design, and over 75 online drawing tutorials for E-How.
He currently lives and works in NY, and recently received the 2013 Brooklyn Artist of the Year Award through the RAW Arts organization.
